A simple and nice door in Saint Germain des Prés (Paris 6). We call this kind of door a "Porte cochère" (comes from "cocher" = coachman). Porte-cochère is a French word which is, still now, very commonly used even if we have no coachmen anymore ... !!!!
The "portes cochères" are large entrance doors for carriages (and other vehicles nowadays !) which lead to a courtyard.
